The mucous membrane produces fluid. Each of these paranasal sinuses are connected to the nose via an opening. As a result, fluid can run out of the sinuses into the nose.The ethmoidal cells form part of the paranasal sinuses and are located behind the nose inside the skull.The sphenoidal sinus is located behind the nose inside the skull.
Your nose was used as a point of access for this surgery. This type of operation might, for example, enlarge the entrances to the paranasal sinuses. Pathologically altered tissue can also be removed from the paranasal sinuses.
