OPS-Code 5-784.cj:
Operations on other bones: Bone transplantation and transposition: Transplantation of spongiosa, autogenous, endoscopic: Patella
You had an operation to place bone material in your kneecap.
The kneecap sits at the front of the knee. It protects the knee joint. It is also important for knee movements. When you bend and stretch the knee, the kneecap slides along the femur. Firm tissue connects the kneecap to the muscle at the front of the thigh and to the tibia.
The bone material was placed during an arthroscopy in your case.An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A thin tube is advanced through this incision. There is a camera at the top of the tube. The camera transmits images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.
The bone material for your kneecap was taken from another part of your body beforehand.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
