A23.2: Brucellosis due to Brucella suis

You have swine brucellosis.

You have been infected with brucella bacteria. These bacteria are usually transmitted from animals to people. If you are infected with the bacteria, the symptoms usually occur after several days.

If you have swine brucellosis, you will usually get a fever. The fever can persist over days or weeks and be up and down several times in the process. The bacteria can cause the bones, joints or inner organs to become inflamed. That can cause pain.
