Mycobacteria are a particular type of bacteria. The bacteria trigger symptoms when the body’s defense system is weakened. The symptoms depend on which organ is affected. The bacteria are resistant to many drugs. The bacteria are difficult to treat. Treatment is therefore over a long period for the most part.
