B18.8: Other chronic viral hepatitis

Your liver has been inflamed for a considerable time. Your liver inflammation is caused by viruses.

The liver is an important organ on the top right of the abdomen. For example, it helps with blood clotting and detoxifying the body. Nutrients from food are processed in the liver.

If the liver is inflamed over a long period of time, this can cause various symptoms. You may feel feeble and tired. You may lose your appetite. Your joints may be painful. Sometimes you can also have diarrhea. Your skin and eyes may turn yellow from time to time. It is also possible to have other symptoms. Sometimes there may be no symptoms at all.
