B41.9: Paracoccidioidomycosis, unspecified

You have South American blastomycosis.

The illness is caused by fungi. The fungi occur in the soil in Central and South America. Fungi produce resistant spores in order to propagate. Drafts can spread the spores around the environment. The fungal spores can be stirred up and breathed in with dust.

The fungi can cause painful lesions in the mouth and nose area. The lymph nodes can become enlarged and secrete pus. Lymph node tissue can die off. It is also possible that you have no symptoms at all.
