B43.1: Phaeomycotic brain abscess

You have chromomycosis in your brain.

The illness is caused by fungi. The fungi occur in Japan, Russia, Brazil and the Southern USA. There they can occur in the soil and rotten areas of plants. The fungi can get into the skin via a wound.

In the skin the fungi can cause soreness or itching. Later on, red papules and wart-type growths can form there. The infection can spread over time.

The fungi have caused pus to accumulate in your brain.
