B48.5: Pneumocystosis

You have been infected by certain fungi. So in your case your lungs have become inflamed.

The fungi may be present in the lungs without causing any problems. If the defense system is severely weakened, the lungs then become inflamed by the fungi. The person then has a cough and breathing problems. You can also feel weak and have a high temperature. The fungi may also spread to other organs.
