B66.4: Paragonimiasis

You have been diagnosed as having lung flukes.

Lung flukes occur in East Asia, Africa and South America. They occur in fresh water shellfish. You can become infected by eating crab, for example, that has not been properly cooked.

Lung flukes can cause stomach pain, diarrhea and fever. You may get a cough with yellowish-brown sputum, and chest pains or breathing difficulties. Lung flukes can also infect the brain. Then you can get headaches or even seizures, for example.
