B88.3: External hirudiniasis

You have been bitten by one or more leeches.

Leeches are parasites. Parasites are small creatures that, at least for periods of time, live off other creatures. In humans they can cause illnesses. Leeches occur both in water and on land. You can be bitten by leeches while swimming, for example.

You have been bitten on your skin. The skin at the bite site may turn red and itch or burn. You may also experience bleeding.
