D82.2: Immunodeficiency with short-limbed stature

You have a congenital condition that is associated with an immune deficiency and smaller body size.

The immune system protects the body from pathogens and foreign substances. The immune system can also destroy cells in the body that have pathologically changed. With an immune deficiency, the immune system is sometimes unable to provide enough protection against pathogens. As a result, the person can be more susceptible to respiratory illnesses, for example. Depending on the type of illness, the severity of the immune deficiency can vary.

People with this condition are usually much smaller than normal. The dwarfism may affect some parts of the body more than others.

With this condition there may be other symptoms, too. The disease is hereditary. Other family members may also be affected.
