You have too much beta-carotene in your body.

Beta-carotene can be converted into vitamin A in the body.

Vitamins are substances the body needs for many tasks. The body is unable produce most vitamins by itself. These vitamins must be taken in through food. Vitamin A is important for night vision, the skin and reproduction.

Beta-carotene is contained in carrots, spinach and green cabbage, among other things. It is also possible to take beta-carotene as a food supplement. If you consume too much beta-carotene, it may accumulate in your body. Accumulated beta-carotene may cause the skin to turn a yellow or orange color.
