E80.3: Defects of catalase and peroxidase

You have certain enzymes not working properly.

In the body, certain proteins ensure that processes run better or more quickly. These proteins are also known as enzymes.

If certain enzymes are not working properly, there can be various problems. For example, the mucous membrane or the mouth, the gums or the throat can become inflamed. The sites affected may then be sore. It is also possible that you have no symptoms at all.

The condition can be hereditary. Other family members can then be affected.

Additional indicator

On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.

  • G: Confirmed diagnosis
  • V: Tentative diagnosis
  • Z: Condition after
  • A: Excluded diagnosis
  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
