F55.1: Abuse of non-dependence-producing substances: Laxatives

You want laxatives very badly. You are damaging your health as a result.

You are taking drugs that act as laxatives. Maybe you were prescribed these drugs to begin with. Now you do not actually need the drugs any more. But you are taking them nevertheless. Physical harm can be caused by taking them. These drugs can damage the kidneys, for example. When an attempt is made to dissuade someone from taking laxatives, the advice is usually rejected.
