Your hypoglossal nerve is damaged.
The hypoglossal nerve runs on either side of the head from the brain to the tongue. The nerve controls the tongue’s movements.
Damage to the hypoglossal nerve can cause you to have trouble speaking. Chewing and swallowing can also be affected.
