G63.3: Polyneuropathy in other endocrine and metabolic diseases
Your nerves are damaged.
Many nerves run from the spinal cord and brain to the organs, skin and muscles in the body.
Your nerves or the sheath around your nerves is damaged. As a result, the skin may feel numb or it may tingle, for example. It may also be that you are in pain or that you are no longer able to move certain muscles. The symptoms usually start in the legs. The symptoms may later spread to other areas of the body.
Your nerves have been damaged by another disorder. With a disorder like this, the amount of messenger substances or proteins in the body may be changed, for example.
On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.
- G: Confirmed diagnosis
- V: Tentative diagnosis

- A: Excluded diagnosis
- L: Left
- R: Right
