G72.4: Inflammatory myopathy, not elsewhere classified

Your muscles are weak because they have been damaged by an inflammation.

The muscles can be inflamed by certain pathogens, for example. However, the cause of the inflammation is sometimes not known.

The severity of the symptoms may vary with this disorder. When the muscles are very weak the person is usually unable to move properly. The muscles may also be sore and keep going into spasm. It is also possible to have other symptoms. Other organs are also sometimes affected by the disorder.
