G95.83: Skeletal muscle spinal spasticity

Because of damage to your spinal cord, some of your muscles are no longer being properly controlled.

The spinal cord is located in the spinal column. The spinal cord is made up of nerve fibers. The brain uses the nerve fibers to exchange information with the organs, skin and muscles.

If muscles are no longer being controlled properly, they can seize up. The muscles in the intestines or bladder may be affected, for example. You may then have problems moving your bowels or urinating.
