G96.1: Disorders of meninges, not elsewhere classified
Your brain’s linings have become disordered.
The brain and the spinal cord are surrounded by 3 meninges (linings). The outer meninx is the dura mater. A soft meninx is in direct contact with the dura mater on the inside of it. There is an additional soft meninx on the brain and spinal cord.
There can be many reasons for the brain’s linings to become disordered. The brain’s linings may have grown incorrectly, for example, or diseased tissue may have grown on them. The brain’s linings may harden or stick together. An additional cavity with cerebrospinal fluid may have formed on the linings. Your brain lining disorder has not been caused by inflammation.
