Your optic nerve has changed.
To be able to see, light needs to fall into our eye. The light falls through the eye to a layer inside the eye. From there, the optic nerve routes the information on to the brain. The brain converts these impressions to images. The optic nerve starts at the back of the eye. The beginning of the optic nerve can be seen when examining the eye.
The beginning of your optic nerve has changed. Various diseases can make the pressure in the brain higher than normal. This can lead to an increased amount of fluid accumulating at the beginning of the optic nerve. The optic nerve looks different in the eye examination as a result. A change that has existed for a considerable time can cause permanent damage to the optic nerve.
Damage to the beginning of the optic nerve means you may not be able to see some areas in your visual field or they may be blurred.
