H65.9: Nonsuppurative otitis media, unspecified
You have an inflammation of the middle ear.
The ear consists of 3 sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. The eardrum separates the outer ear from the middle ear. In the middle ear there are tiny bones that are important for one’s hearing. The bones transmit sounds to the inner ear. There is a connection between the middle ear and the throat. This allows air to get to the middle ear.
When your middle ear is inflamed, the ear might be very painful. Your hearing may get worse, or you might hear annoying ambient noise. You might also have headaches and a high temperature. You may feel very weak and sick. Fluid may also be discharged from the ear.
