H69.0: Patulous Eustachian tube
The passageway connecting your middle ear to your throat is wider than usual.
The ear is a sensory organ that is used to hear and to maintain one's balance. There are 3 different areas in the ear: the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear. The middle ear is connected to the throat by a passageway. This allows air to get to the middle ear.
When the passageway connecting the middle ear to the throat is wider than usual, there are often no symptoms at all. However, one’s own voice may sound too loud. One might also feel an unpleasant pressure in the ear affected. The ear may also sometimes feel unpleasantly full.
