ICD-Code I25.4: Coronary artery aneurysm and dissection
The wall of a coronary artery has altered.
The heart muscle is supplied with oxygen-rich blood via the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries are blood vessels that run around the outside of the heart. Blood vessels have a vascular wall that is made up of several layers.
If the wall of a coronary artery is altered, it may be enlarged in one area. It is also possible that the innermost layer of the vessel wall is torn. Blood can then get in between the layers of the vascular wall. It is also possible for there to be a connection to another blood vessel or to the inside of the heart via the vessel wall.
