ICD-Code I31.0: Chronic adhesive pericarditis
Adhesions have developed in your pericardium.
The pericardium is a layer of connective tissue surrounding the heart. There is some fluid in the pericardium (heart sac). So the heart is able to move inside this lining.
Prolonged inflammation has led to adhesions in your pericardium. These adhesions may not cause any problems. However, the heart may also no longer be able to work properly because of the adhesions. This can make you exhausted more quickly or get breathless.
