I70.21: Atherosclerosis of arteries of extremities: pelvic-limb type, with claudication at a distance of 200 m or more
Deposits have formed in the arteries in your pelvis or your leg. As a result, you have symptoms.
Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood. In your case, fats and calcium have been deposited in the wall of the arteries in your pelvis or your legs. This can make the wall of the affected arteries harder and thicker. The deposits can also cause the arteries to get narrower. This can result in insufficient blood reaching the pelvis, buttocks, legs or feet.
The deposits are causing you some problems. If you do something strenuous and walk for distances of over 200 meters, then you have pain in your buttocks, legs or feet.
Various risk factors can favor deposits in blood vessels. These include, for example, smoking, obesity, and high blood pressure. Avoiding these risk factors can slow the progress of the disorder. This can also help prevent problems arising from the disorder.
