I97.1: Other functional disturbances following cardiac surgery

After a treatment your heart has not been beating properly.

The heart pumps blood through the body. To do this it regularly contracts and relaxes. This is the heartbeat. To do this the different parts of the heart have to work properly and work together.

In the past you had treatment on your heart. The way the different parts of the heart work together is finely tuned. So the heart may not beat properly after a treatment. It may not beat regularly or not powerfully enough. As a result, you may have various symptoms. For example, one may feel dizzy or short of breath. Sometimes, too, fluid collects in the body. The legs might then thicken, for example.

  • B: Both sides
