K01.1: Impacted teeth

The eruption of one or more teeth is being prevented by another tooth.

Normally, each tooth breaks through the gum within a certain time period. The eruption may not occur, or may only partly occur, within this time period. Milk teeth and adult teeth can both be affected.

Additional indicator

On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.

  • G: Confirmed diagnosis
  • V: Tentative diagnosis
  • Z: Condition after
  • A: Excluded diagnosis
  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
