K31.6: Fistula of stomach and duodenum
An additional connection between your stomach and intestines has been formed.
The stomach is located in the upper abdomen. The stomach has a curved shape, and is connected to the gullet (oesophagus) at its upper end and with the first part of the small intestine at its lower end. Between the stomach and the small intestine there is a circular sphincter, the pylorus. The inside of the stomach is lined with mucous membrane.
The stomach and intestines are usually connected to each other. In your case however, there is an additional connection between the stomach and intestines. This connection may become inflamed or cause constriction of the intestines. In that case, you may have abdominal pain, for example. You may have diarrhea. It is also possible that you will lose weight. It is also possible that you have no symptoms at all.
