K83.1: Obstruction of bile duct
Your bile duct is obstructed.
The gallbladder is in the top right part of the abdomen below the liver. The liver produces bile. The bile flows through bile ducts to the gallbladder and is stored there. When needed, the bile flows through another bile duct to the intestine. There, the bile helps to digest fats.
One of your bile ducts has become obstructed. That can occur for instance when tissue presses onto the bile duct from the outside.
The bile in the gallbladder or other bile ducts can accumulate as a result of the obstruction.
