K86.2: Cyst of pancreas

You have one or more cysts (cavities) in your pancreas.

The pancreas is located in the upper abdomen. It regulates the sugar content in the blood and forms substances for digestion, for example.

One or more cysts have formed in your pancreas. The cause for this can for instance be an inflammation or injury to the pancreas. These cysts are surrounded by a thin layer of skin and contain fluid. These small cysts may not cause any problems. However, if the cysts are very large, then they can press on the surrounding organs. As a result, you may have abdominal pain.
