K90.4: Malabsorption due to intolerance, not elsewhere classified
You cannot properly absorb nutrients from food.
The intestines are made up of the small intestine and the large intestine or colon. Most of the nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. The large intestine (colon) is where water and salt are withdrawn from the stool. The last segment of the large intestine (colon) is the rectum. Stool then leaves the body through the anus.
Food is made up of various components such as fats, proteins and sugars. You are not tolerating a particular nutritional component. If you consume this nutritional component, you will get symptoms. Your bowel movements may change. For example, you may have diarrhea. You may also have flatulence.
