K93.31: Stage 1 chronic graft-versus-host disease of the digestive tract

Your body has been damaged after you were given stem cells from another person.

Stem cells are cells that can develop into different types of cells. For example, blood cells can develop from stem cells. Stem cells are found in the blood and inside some bones.

Some time ago, you were given stem cells from another person.

After you had received the stem cells, your immune system no longer worked properly. The exact reason for that is unknown. In your case, the gastrointestinal mucous membrane was damaged by your immune system.

Gastrointestinal damage may cause you to have various symptoms. You may have diarrhea, abdominal pain or difficulty swallowing, for example. It is also possible that you are no longer able to eat properly and are losing weight.
