L00.1: Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome [SSSS]: involving 30% or more of body surface

Your skin has been inflamed by certain bacteria.

The bacteria produce a certain substance that can inflame the skin. The body is usually able to protect itself against this harmful substance. If the immune system is not working properly, though, this substance cannot be broken down properly. In young children, the body cannot always fight off the substance either.

The skin then turns red in many places, and blisters form. The skin then often looks as though it has been scalded. You may also have a high temperature and be severely ill.

In your case, the inflammation has affected large areas of your skin.
