L12.0: Bullous pemphigoid
Blisters have formed on your skin.
Your immune system is attacking certain parts of your skin. As a result, your skin has become inflamed and damaged.
The skin is then usually red, and broken in some places. Typically, blisters also form on the skin. The skin is also often very itchy. The blisters usually form on the trunk of the body, and on the arms and legs. The mucous membrane, for example in the mouth, is also sometimes affected.
The skin may have been damaged for a long time before blisters form. The disorder is often a lifelong condition. Symptoms can vary in severity over time. There may also be psychological effects.
