L26: Exfoliative dermatitis

Your skin is very red.

Your skin is very red. The skin often also turns scaly and itches. Raised areas on the skin are sometimes visible. If these sites weep and crust over, the skin can become inflamed. Sometimes the skin on the entire body may be damaged. You may lose a lot of fluid via the skin. You can feel very ill.

This severe skin damage can be caused by another skin disorder, for example. The skin is sometimes damaged by disorders of the organs. It is also possible that no cause is found.
