Your hair is falling out and bald patches are visible.
Some of your hair roots have been damaged by an inflammation. The inflammation is caused when mucus collects around hair roots. Hairless patches and flaky raised areas often form on the skin. It is the face, neck and scalp that are usually affected. The hair loss is also sometimes caused by other disorders.
