L65.8: Other specified nonscarring hair loss

You have been losing hair.

You have lost more hair than usual in many places, because your hair roots are damaged. Hair loss from a healthy scalp is scarcely noticeable. In other words, no bald patches are visible.

Hair loss can be caused by feverish illnesses or certain medications, for example. Hair loss can also be caused by scalp disorders or by disorders of certain messenger substances. The hair can also occasionally be damaged at pressure points or by pulling.
