L99.22: Stage 2 chronic cutaneous graft-versus-host disease
Your skin has been damaged after you were given stem cells from another person.
Stem cells are cells that can develop into different types of cells. For example, blood cells can develop from stem cells. Stem cells are found in the blood and inside some bones. Some time ago you were given stem cells from another person.
After you received these stem cells, your body’s immune system stopped working properly. Your skin was damaged as a result.
Damage to skin may cause a rash. The damaged areas can swell up and become red or look dry and scaly. The skin may become pitted and tight, making it stretched.
