M24.51: Contracture of joint Shoulder region
You have restricted mobility in your shoulder.
There are 3 bones and 2 joints in the shoulder area. The bones are the collarbone, the shoulder blade, and the humerus. The shoulder joint connects the humerus to the shoulder blade. A second joint connects the shoulder blade to the collarbone. The collarbone is also connected to the sternum by another joint. You may also have restricted mobility in the joint between your collarbone and your sternum.
Different disorders or injuries can lead to a joint being used less than before. Muscles, ligaments and tendons can then get shorter. This will make the joint less mobile. The joint may also stiffen up completely. Then it cannot be moved at all any longer.
