M24.56: Contracture of joint Lower leg
You have restricted mobility in your knee.
The knee joint connects the thighbone (femur) to the lower leg. The kneecap is also part of the knee joint. There are 2 bones in the lower leg. These bones are called the tibia (shinbone) and fibula. There is also a joint immediately below the knee joint between the tibia and fibula. You may also have restricted mobility in the joint just below your knee.
Different disorders or injuries can lead to a joint being used less than before. Muscles, ligaments and tendons can then get shorter. This will make the joint less mobile. The joint may also stiffen up completely. Then it cannot be moved at all any longer.
