You have a muscle inflammation in your lower leg or knee.

Muscle inflammations can be caused by pathogens, foreign objects or various other disorders, for example.

When you move inflamed muscles, or press on them, it can be painful. Inflamed muscles can also harden. It may become impossible to move the inflamed muscles properly. If the muscles remain inflamed for a long time, they may also get weaker or cramp up.
