M62.22: Ischaemic infarction of muscle Upper arm
One or more muscles in your upper arm or elbow have not had an adequate blood supply.
Via the blood, the muscles are supplied with oxygen. When a blood vessel is compressed, narrowed or blocked by clotted blood, the muscles may not get enough oxygen. They can then become damaged and die off.
When muscles have been damaged, one may have pain at the site affected. It may also be that you are no longer able to move the affected area of your body properly.
When muscles have been damaged, they can swell up. This can result in increased pressure in the tissue. This can cause further damage in the muscles and in other tissues.
