As a result of the condition sarcoidosis, you have a muscle inflammation in your ankle or foot.
Sarcoidosis is a condition that causes inflammations all over the body. The precise cause of this disease is unknown. Sarcoidosis can cause changes in the lungs. Sarcoidosis may also cause pain in the joints, for example, or cause changes to the skin.
You have inflamed muscles due to sarcoidosis. When you move inflamed muscles, or press on them, it can be painful. Inflamed muscles can also harden. It may become impossible to move the inflamed muscles properly. If the muscles remain inflamed for a long time, they may also get weaker or cramp up.
