M67.14: Other contracture of tendon (sheath) Hand
Tendons or tendon sheaths have become shorter in your hand.
Tendons are made up of very firm connective tissue. Tendons attach muscles to bones. A tendon sheath is a covering for the tendon. It cushions the tendon and contains a small amount of fluid. This reduces friction between the tendon and its surroundings.
When you do not move parts of your body enough, tendons or tendon sheaths may get shorter. Over time you may find it harder, or impossible, to carry out certain movements. Joints may also stiffen up as a result.
