O26.60: Cholestasis (intrahepatic) in pregnancy
Your pregnancy can cause your bile fluid to stop getting from the liver to the intestines properly.
Bile is produced in the liver. The bile is transported via bile ducts within the liver towards the gallbladder. The bile is collected in the gallbladder. When you eat something, bile is released into the intestine. This is what the common bile duct to the intestine is for.
The bile fluid not being able to get from the liver to the intestines properly can cause your skin to itch. The skin or the whites of your eyes can also turn yellow. You may also have pain in your upper abdomen.
