O85: Puerperal sepsis
You have puerperal fever.
Puerperal fever is an illness that can occur after a child has been born. It is an inflammation of the womb. The inflammation can cause fever and abdominal pain. The inflammation may also spread further through the abdomen. If the inflammation spreads, blood poisoning can occur.
Blood poisoning makes you very ill. You may become confused and sleepy. You may have a fever and a very fast pulse. Your breathing may also be abnormally fast. Blood poisoning can affect many organs in the body. For example, the kidneys may no longer produce enough urine.
