O89.0: Pulmonary complications of anaesthesia during the puerperium
After being anesthetized during your puerperium, you have developed lung problems.
The puerperium is the first 6 to 8 weeks after childbirth. An anesthetic involves being given certain drugs. The aim is to suppress feelings of pain for a certain time. A local anesthetic only suppresses the pain in one particular part of the body. A general anesthetic involves being given additional medication to put you to sleep.
In the course of an anesthetic, stomach contents may get into the lungs, for example. Pathogens can also get into the lungs. If stomach contents or pathogens get into the lungs, you can get a lung inflammation.
