O90.1: Disruption of perineal obstetric wound

Stitches were put into a wound in your perineum after the birth of your child. The wound has reopened.

The perineum is the region between the anus and vagina. During a birth, this region is sometimes injured.

Your wound was closed by a suture or staples, for example. There can be various reasons why the wound later reopened. For example, the stitched area may have been moved too much. An inflammation of the wound is also possible.
