P20.0: Intrauterine hypoxia first noted before onset of labour

Before the birth it was diagnosed that the child was short of oxygen.

For a variety of reasons, the oxygen supply to the unborn child might be poor. An indication may be, for example, that the child’s heart is beating more quickly or slowly than is normal. The blood may also be more acid than usual.
