P39.4: Neonatal skin infection
In the period immediately after the birth the skin became inflamed.
Bacteria can cause the baby’s skin to become inflamed. When the skin is inflamed, the skin at the places affected may be red or be hotter than usual. The skin at the places affected may also swell up, or pustules may form. The places affected may be sore.
